Hey Iowa!
Hey everybody! Statue of Liberty is back in Iowa and the Midwest for a short tour, and we’ve been having a blast. We left a dark and snow-covered Colorado early on a Thursday morning around 4am, with the thermometer reading a frosty five degrees. BRRR!! Not an ideal start for a tour. Driving out of the snow and into the sunrise, however, made it all worth it!
Since arriving in Iowa we’ve played shows in Des Moines and Ames, and we are looking forward to playing again this week in Dubuque (IA), and Galena (IL). We met up with some old friends and made some new at Smokey Row Coffee House, where we played on Thursday night. Then Friday and Saturday we played with our good and talented friends, Daniel and the Lion. Our shows at The Fremont and The Space for Ames were great–with more new friends and fans. Another a great touring band, Teenage Moods, joined us at The Space for Ames and it was a great night of music!
Coming up we’re getting a couple new songs ready for our Dubuque and Galena gigs. This week, we’re hosting an open mic on Wednesday night at The Cornerstone in Galena, then playing at Monks Kaffee Pub in Dubuque on Thursday night, and on Friday we’re going back to The Cornerstone for a show. If you can make it, we’d love to see you out there!
The rest of our time we’ll spend visiting some family and friends and getting a little R&R before heading back to the Rocky Mountains early next week. Thanks for reading and listening!
Shine On,
Marywood Kate
